About me
A high performance athlete and sports scientist with 8 years of experience in elite sport. As an athlete I strive to develop my athletic ability on a daily basis and work on maximising my potential in professional sport.
With a diverse background in various sporting environments from cycling to running and triathlon, I have been heavily involved in competing in endurance sport from a young age nationally and internationally. I am a registered high performance athlete on the UL Sports Scholarship Programme for 2024/2025.
Aside from my athletic pursuits, as a sports scientist and coach I have dedicated my education to developing the ability to provide high quality coaching, with a background in Sports Science from an MSc Sports Performance in University of Limerick, Bachelors (Honours) in Sports Coaching in TUS and specific Strength & Conditioning qualifications (REPS Ireland & NCSC) among UCI & FFC qualifications in cycling.
I have worked with over 150+ athletes on their journey to national and international success in endurance sport (cycling & running), helping athletes achieve wins, international contracts and countless podiums. Key roles in sports science outside of endurance sport involved working as Head Sports Scientist within semi-pro & amateur football teams (Athlone Town FC & Limerick FC) and as a research intern in professional rugby with Munster Rugby first team.

Experience in Elite Sport
2014 - 2024 (Present)
My experience in elite sport began at 15 years of age in 2012 and I've been involved in elite sport every year since, as an athlete and coach. I am currently a registered high performance athlete in University of Limerick, training between 10-20 hours per week depending on the training cycle.
Recent experience as a sports scientist over the past 2 years includes:
1. Munster Rugby
(Sports Science - First Team)
2. Head of Sports Science
Limerick FC (League of Ireland Team)
3. S&C Coach
Athlone Town FC (League of Ireland Youth Team)
4. Cycling - Endurance Coach
Providing endurance coaching to clients achieving national & international wins/podiums
5. Setanta College
Module Corrector on Certificate of Strength & Conditioning
Early Years
My first involvement in elite sport came when I started playing football in the League of Ireland as a 15 & 16 year old, before switching to cycling. In 2014 at 17 years of age, I was offered a contract in France for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons. These 3 years helped me develop as a young athlete in Europe and provided great experiences along with a big insight into elite sport while racing some of the biggest junior and U23 races in Europe.
What's Next ?
Reaching the top of professional sport is the next step on my athletic journey while combining this as a sports scientist. Doctors have told me I have limited breathing capacity operating at about 80%. Since 2014, I suffered with a breathing issue which I competed through for 10 years, I am finally receiving surgery in 2025 to correct this, which will make a significant difference helping my performance greatly. Until then, training goes on.
